The culmination of a 10-week series of vocal improv workshops, VOXYmusic is a one-of-a-kind vocal happening that takes the vox out of the box! Join our choir of intrepid vocal artists for an evening of deep listening, imagination, and musical invention. Celebrating the power and possibilities of the voice, VOXYmusic is a multi-tradition/multi-cultural evening of vocal games, scores, texts and songs. Founded and directed by two of the West Coast’s most engaging and interesting singers — Kate Hammett-Vaughan and Carol Sawyer — VOXYmusic will feature solos and small ensembles, as well as conducted and spontaneous works for improvising choir. Wild, reverent, quirky, soulful and engaging – VOXYmusic connects us all to the heartbeat of communication, the human voice.
